The origins of Haleem may be traced back to the classic Arabian meal Harees, whose first written recipe can be found in Kitab Al-Tabikh (Book of Recipes), the world's oldest surviving Arabic cookbook, composed by Arab writer Abu Muhammad al-Muzaffar ibn Sayyar in the 10th century. It was brought to India by Arab soldiers from the Nizam of Hyderabad's army. Hareesa is the name given to it in Arabia and Armenia; Daleem is the name given to it in Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and northern Iraq; and Khichra is the name given to it in Pakistan.

The most watched recipe of Haleem on YouTube channel by Zaika dilli 6 which has 6.9 million views. However, the Kitchen with Temish has 4.7 million views and Shahi Haleem by Chef Gulzar has 2.8 Million views.

These recipes has definitely three different taste, the ingredients used in these recipes of Haleem’s are mostly same. But the one thing is differ in spices, some chef used excessive spices in recipe some used less spices in recipe like CHEF GULZAR (SHAHI HALEEM) used nutmeg and mace powder but the others not used this spice in their recipe. The KITCHEN WITH TEHMISH has used yogurt in her recipe as compared to this other two are not used yogurt in recipe for roasted meat. The CHEF GULZAR (SHAHI HALEEM) soaked the pulses for one night but the other two not soaked the pulses for a night, they both used the fresh pulses and boiled them. So the cooking method differ among them.  As per my opinion if you want to make quick Haleem recipe you can buy mashed pulses from stores, its safe time. Now a days it’s easily available. Moreover, from my perspective, ZAIKA DILLI 6 (DALEEM) zaika dill recipe is perfect recipe for making best Daleem. Daleem takes a time you have to give full concentration on this recipe to get good taste.
