Churna is an Island located 6.8 km North West of Mubarik Goth beach and approx 8 km West of Hub Power Plant. It measures 1270 meters from N to S and 945 meters at the widest point. The island is un-inhabited as there is no fresh water source on the island. The terrain of the island rises abruptly from sea level and reaches the highest point at 469 ft which, looking at the overall size of the island, is quite a steep ascend. The rock looks majestically beautiful, specially if viewed from south westerly direction.
The island is famous for snorkeling, diving and fishing. The water around the island is crystal clear with lot of coral reefs and a good variety of coral fish. The island is around 45 minutes ride on the local hora boats. On a speed boat it will take much less.
In recent times, many people from Karachi visit the island and unfortunately, do not clean the litter when they go back, resulting in quick degradation of pristine environment. Few volunteer groups have been doing the cleaning jobs but it wont help, unless the people get themselves educated.

چورنا ایک جزیرہ ہے جو مبارک گوٹھ ساحل سمندر سے 6.8 کلومیٹر شمال مغرب اور حب پاور پلانٹ سے تقریباً 8 کلومیٹر مغرب میں واقع ہے۔ اس کی پیمائش N سے S تک 1270 میٹر اور چوڑے مقام پر 945 میٹر ہے۔ جزیرہ غیر آباد ہے کیونکہ جزیرے پر میٹھے پانی کا کوئی ذریعہ نہیں ہے۔ جزیرے کا علاقہ سطح سمندر سے اچانک اٹھتا ہے اور 469 فٹ کی بلندی پر پہنچ جاتا ہے جو کہ جزیرے کے مجموعی سائز کو دیکھتے ہوئے، کافی تیز چڑھائی ہے۔ چٹان شاندار طور پر خوبصورت نظر آتی ہے، خاص طور پر اگر جنوب مغربی سمت سے دیکھا جائے۔
یہ جزیرہ سنورکلنگ، غوطہ خوری اور ماہی گیری کے لیے مشہور ہے۔ جزیرے کے آس پاس کا پانی بہت صاف ہے جس میں مرجان کی چٹانیں اور مرجان مچھلیوں کی اچھی قسم ہے۔ یہ جزیرہ مقامی ہورا کشتیوں پر 45 منٹ کی سواری پر ہے۔ حالیہ دنوں میں، کراچی سے بہت سے لوگ جزیرے کا دورہ کرتے ہیں اور بدقسمتی سے واپس جاتے وقت کوڑے کو صاف نہیں کرتے، جس کے نتیجے میں قدیم ماحول تیزی سے خراب ہوتا ہے۔ کچھ رضاکار گروپ صفائی کا کام کر رہے ہیں لیکن اس سے کوئی فائدہ نہیں ہوگا، جب تک کہ لوگ خود کو تعلیم یافتہ نہ بنائی۔
