An island known as Bukkur Fort (Sindh) is situated in Rohri, Sukkur District, Pakistan. The largest of the three islands in the Indus River, Bukkur Island, is located between the twin towns of Rohri and Sukkur and has a surface area of 240,000 square metres.
Bukkur is an island located in Rohri, Sukkur District, Pakistan. Named Bukkur (Dawn) by Sayyid Muhammad Al-Makki in the seventh century of Hijri, this island is a limestone rock, oval in shape, 800 yards (730 m) long by 300 yards (270 m) wide, and about 25 feet (7.6 m) in height. According to the Superintendent of Land Records and Registration, Sindh, in 1912, the area of Bukkur island was 255,292 sq. yards, or 49 acres (20 ha). Nowadays Bukkur Island is occupied by an Army public school, and the tomb of Sayyid Sadruddin, who was the son of Sayyid Muhammad Al-Makki.
The isolated fortress of Bukkur was situated on a rock in the Indus, between the towns of Rohri and Sukkur. Bukkur Island is a 300 meter wide limestone island in the middle of the Indus River in Sindh province, south-eastern Pakistan. The town of Rohri lies on the west side of the river and the town of Sukker is on the opposite bank. Bukkur contains an ancient mud fortress and many historic tombs and mosques. The island fortress was considered strategically important as the Indus was regarded as an important commercial highway and was seized by the British in the First Anglo-Afghan War (1839-42).

بکھر ایک جزیرہ ہے جو روہڑی، سکھر ضلع، پاکستان میں واقع ہے۔ ساتویں صدی ہجری میں سید محمد المکی نے بکھر (ڈان) کا نام دیا، یہ جزیرہ چونے کی چٹان پر ہے، جس کی شکل بیضوی ہے، 800 گز (730 میٹر) لمبا 300 گز (270 میٹر) چوڑا، اور تقریباً 25 فٹ (25 فٹ) 7.6 میٹر) اونچائی میں ھے۔ سپرنٹنڈنٹ آف لینڈ ریکارڈ اینڈ رجسٹریشن سندھ کے مطابق 1912 میں بکھر جزیرے کا رقبہ 255,292 مربع گز یا 49 ایکڑ (20 ہیکٹر) تھا۔ جزیرہ بکھر پر سید صدرالدین کا مقبرہ ہے جو سید محمد المکی کے بیٹے تھے۔
بکھر کا قلعہ روہڑی اور سکھر کے شہروں کے درمیان دریائے سندھ میں ایک چٹان پر واقع ہے۔ بکھر جزیرہ جنوب مشرقی پاکستان کے صوبہ سندھ میں دریائے سندھ کے وسط میں 300 میٹر چوڑا چونا پتھر کا جزیرہ ہے۔ روہڑی کا قصبہ دریا کے مغربی کنارے پر ہے اور سکھر کا قصبہ مخالف کنارے پر ہے۔ بکھر میں مٹی کا ایک قدیم قلعہ اور بہت سے تاریخی مقبرے اور مساجد ہیں۔ جزیرے کے قلعے کو آمدو رفت کے طور پر اہم سمجھا جاتا تھا کیونکہ سندھ کو ایک اہم تجارتی شاہراہ سمجھا جاتا تھا اور پہلی اینگلو-افغان جنگ (1839-42) میں انگریزوں نے اس پر قبضہ کر لیا تھا۔
