Gilgit Baltistan's core is Fairy Meadow and situated at Nanga Parbat. German climbers gave the Pakistani region of Gilgit-Baltistan the name Fairy Meadows. "Heaven on Earth" is another name for Fairy Meadows. Fairy Meadows has been designated as Pakistan's national park by the government. Fairy Meadow is a stunningly beautiful highland area with beautiful greenery.
German climbers named fairy Meadows (German Märchenwiese, "fairy tale meadows") after them. also known as Joot is a grassland near one of the Nanga Parbat's base camp sites in the Diamer District of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is the starting point for hikers attempting to ascend the Nanga Parbat's Rakhiot face. It is located at an elevation of around 3,300 metres (10,800 feet) above sea level. Fairy Meadows was designated as a national park by the Pakistani government in 1995.
Fairy Meadows has a six-month tourist season that begins in April and ends in September. Tourists stay at the "Raikot Serai" camping site, which covers 800 hectares (2,000 acres). Despite being only partially constructed, Fairy Meadows earns approximately PKR 17 million in tourism revenue, primarily through the provision of food, transportation, and lodging. Brigadier M. Aslam Khan (M.C, H.J, F.K), First Commander Gilgit Scouts, developed the route to Fairy Meadows, which now employs locals. To protect the forest and boost tourism in the area, the local community halted timber extraction.
The view of Nanga Parbat Mountain is the main attraction of this location, aside from the meadows themselves. From Fairy Meadows, tourists frequently climb to the mountain's base camp.
The gravel road has not been repaired since it was established hundreds of years ago by ethnic inhabitants of the Nanga Parbat Mountain, making it one of the most dangerous routes on the list. Because the road was developed by locals, it is a privately owned toll road. The road is narrow and steep, with an unstable gravel road cut out of the desolate hills.
