One of Pakistan's national parks is Chitral Gol National Park. It is two hours' drive from Chitral Town in Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province's Chitral District, next to the Chitral River. Chitral National Park is another name for the area.
Chitral Gol National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1979 and a National Park in 1984. This 7750-hectare area lies just west of the Town of Chitral, encompassing the watershed of Chitral Gol. Chitral Gol National Park is surrounded by high Hindukush peaks and is a habitat of a number of wildlife like Kashmir Markhor, Ibex, Snow Leopard, Lynx, Chakor, Ram Chakor, Pheasant and a large variety of birds and wild animals. National bird of Pakistan, Chakor, National animal of Pakistan, Markhor, National flower Jasmin and National Tree, Diyar are also found in Chitral Gol National Park. Chitral Gol National Park is located at a distance of two hours’ drive from Chitral town. The park is also known as Chitral National Park.
Up until 1983, Chitral Gol was considered to be the private property of the former Mehta of Chitral. The status of the park has been in dispute since and has become the issue of ongoing litigation between heirs of the former Mehtar and the Government of Pakistan.
The Birmoghlasht part of the park is where the former Mehtar’s Summer Fort is located. At the time of existence of the Chitral State, the Mehtar and his family use to move here in the summer and hold court. The fort was constructed in such a way that it overlooked the entire city. It stands at an elevation of over 2800 meters above sea level. It is a 40-minute drive from the main Chitral city. The best season to visit Birmoghlasht is the month of May and June. Spring season arises here in these months and there will be a lot of greenery and flowers in these two months.

چترال گول نیشنل پارک کو 1979 میں جنگلی حیات کی پناہ گاہ اور 1984 میں ایک نیشنل پارک قرار دیا گیا تھا اور اسکا رقبہ 7750 ہیکٹرہے جو چترال شہر کے مغرب میں واقع ہے۔ چترال گول نیشنل پارک ہندوکش کی بلند چوٹیوں سے گھرا ہوا ہے اور یہ متعدد جنگلی حیات کا مسکن ہے جیسے کشمیری مارخور، آئی بیکس، سنو لیپرڈ، لنکس، چکور، رام چکور، فیزنٹ اور پرندوں اور جنگلی جانوروں کی بہت ساری اقسام پای جاتی ہیں ۔ پاکستان کا قومی پرندہ چکور، پاکستان کا قومی جانور مارخور، قومی پھول جیسمین اور قومی درخت دیار بھی چترال گول نیشنل پارک میں پائے جاتے ہیں۔ چترال گول نیشنل پارک چترال شہر سے دو گھنٹے کی مسافت پر واقع ہے۔ اس پارک کو چترال نیشنل پارک بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔ 1983 کو چترال گول کو چترال کے سابق چیف کی نجی ملکیت تھا۔
پارک کا برموگلشت حصہ وہ ہے جہاں سابقہ چیف مہتر کا قلعہ واقع ہے۔ چترال ریاست کے وجود کے وقت مہتر اور اس کا خاندان گرمیوں میں یہاں آکر دربار لگاتے تھے۔ قلعہ کی تعمیر اس طرح کی گئی تھی کہ اس سے پورے شہر کو دیکھا جا ئے ۔ یہ سطح سمندر سے 2800 میٹر کی بلندی پر واقع ہے اور یہ مرکزی چترال شہر سے 40 منٹ کی ڈرائیو پر ہے۔ اس شہر کا دورہ کرنے کا بہترین موسم مئی اور جون کا مہینہ ہے۔ ان مہینوں میں یہاں بہار کا موسم آتا ہے اور ان دو مہینوں میں ہریالی اور پھول بہت ہوتے ھیں۔
