Saidpur is one of the oldest villages of Pakistan. It is more than five hundred years old village known for its rich heritage, culture, history and folklore. Saidpur is a village and union council located in a ravine in Pakistan in the Margalla Hills, near the Daman-e-Koh overlook, in the Islamabad Capital Territory.
This village has both Hindu history and Mughal history, the village is rich in cultural heritage of past eras. However much of the dynamic has changed since partition. Although a very small village, hardly 5 minutes drive from Margalla hills, Saidpur is a quaint village in Islamabad offering glimpses of multicultural heritage flourishing under the Margalla and has very important cultural and heritage history, from Hindu God Ram to a dowry gift for Mughal emperor Jahanighir when he married a Governor's daughter.
A Hindu commander Raja Man Singh later converted Saidpur into a place of Hindu worship. He constructed small ponds and temples for the worship of Hindus. Those temples have been preserved to show the history and culture of Hindu in the region.
According to the history, in 1530 AD, Mirza Fateh Ali founded the village. Initially, it came to be known after him as Fatehpur Baoli. However, later, when the area was given to Said Khan Gakhar by the Mughal Emperor Akbar for his family s services in the fight against Afghan warrior Sher Shah Suri, the name of the village changed from Fatehpur to Saidpur.
The village was named Saidpur after Sultan Said Khan; son of Sultan Sarang Khan during the rule of Mughal Emperor Babar. Sultan Sarang Khan was the Lord of Pothohar region (from Jhelum to Attock). Later, Said Khan gifted this place to his daughter who was married to Mughal emperor Jahangir. There is completely a different experience to visit Saidpur in the day light and in the calm evenings. One can feel the difference of two different times by looking at the surroundings. The dynamic shift happened something like this. The apron of the temple where once upper-class Hindus used to take Parsaad, now serves as a dining place of Des Pardes and Andaaz- a high-end restaurants, catering to elites only.
Scenic view and good restaurants for families and tourist. All age group can visit, and take in the view of the village of the city, take selfies, have family dinner or hangout for a picnic spot. During day time, especially in holidays, the place is packed with people while in the evening; the place narrates its own tales of different eras. Both summer and winter has its own charm in the village.
سید پور گاؤں
سید پور گاؤں پاکستان کے قدیم ترین دیہاتوں میں سے ایک گاؤں ہے۔ یہ پانچ سو سال سے زیادہ پرانا گاؤں ہے جو اپنے بھرپور ورثے، ثقافت، تاریخ اور لوک داستانوں کے لیے جانا جاتا ہے۔ سید پور ایک گاؤں اور یونین کونسل ہے جو اسلام آباد کیپٹل ٹیریٹری میں دامن کوہ کے قریب، مارگلہ پہاڑیوں کے قریب واقع ہے ۔
اس گاؤں میں ہندو اور مغل تاریخ دونوں موجود ہیں، یہ گاؤں ماضی کے ثقافتی ورثے سے مالا مال ہے۔ تاہم تقسیم کے بعد سے زیادہ تر متحرک بدل گیا ہے۔ اگرچہ ایک بہت چھوٹا گاؤں، مارگلہ کی پہاڑیوں سے بمشکل 5 منٹ کی دوری پر، سید پور اسلام آباد کا ایک پرانا گاؤں ہے جو مارگلہ کے نیچے پھلے پھولے کثیر ثقافتی ورثے کی جھلک پیش کرتا ہے اور اس کی ثقافتی اور ورثہ کی بہت اہم تاریخ ہے، ہندو بھگوان رام کی طرف سے مغل بادشاہ کے لیے جہیز کا تحفہ تھا ۔ جہانگیر نے جب گورنر کی بیٹی سے شادی کی۔ایک ہندو کمانڈر راجہ مان سنگھ نے بعد میں سید پور کو ہندو عبادت گاہ میں تبدیل کر دیا۔ اس نے ہندوؤں کی عبادت کے لیے چھوٹے تالاب اور مندر بنائے۔ ان مندروں کو خطے میں ہندوؤں کی تاریخ اور ثقافت کو دکھانے کے لیے محفوظ کیا گیا ہے۔
تاریخ کے مطابق 1530ء میں مرزا فتح علی نے گاؤں کی بنیاد رکھی۔ ابتدا میں یہ ان کے بعد فتح پور باؤلی کے نام سے مشہور ہوا۔ تاہم، بعد میں جب یہ علاقہ مغل بادشاہ اکبر نے سید خان گکھڑ کو افغان جنگجو شیر شاہ سوری کے خلاف جنگ میں ان کے خاندان کی خدمات کے عوض دیا تو گاؤں کا نام فتح پور سے بدل کر سید پور ہو گیا۔
اس گاؤں کا نام سلطان سعید خان کے نام پر سید پور رکھا گیا۔ مغل بادشاہ بابر کے دور میں سلطان سارنگ خان کا بیٹا۔ سلطان سارنگ خان خطہ پوٹھوہار (جہلم سے اٹک تک) کا رب تھا۔ بعد میں سید خان نے یہ جگہ اپنی بیٹی کو تحفے میں دی جس کی شادی مغل بادشاہ جہانگیر سے ہوئی تھی۔ دن کی روشنی میں اور پرسکون شاموں میں سید پور کا دورہ کرنا بالکل مختلف تجربہ ہے۔ ماحول کو دیکھ کر کوئی بھی دو مختلف اوقات کے فرق کو محسوس کر سکتا ہے۔
متحرک تبدیلی کچھ اس طرح ہوئی۔ مندر کا تہبند جہاں کبھی اعلیٰ طبقے کے ہندو پرساد لیا کرتے تھے، اب یہ دیس پردیس اور انداز کے کھانے کی جگہ کے طور پر کام کرتا ہے- ایک اعلیٰ درجے کے ریستوراں، جو صرف اشرافیہ کے لیے کیٹرنگ کرتے ہیں۔
قدرتی نظارے اور خاندانوں اور سیاحوں کے لیے اچھے ریستوراں موجود ہیں ۔ تمام عمر کے لوگ جا سکتے ہیں، اور شہر کے گاؤں کا نظارہ کر سکتے ہیں، ، فیملی ڈنر کر سکتے ہیں یا پکنک کی جگہ پر ہینگ آؤٹ کر سکتے ہیں۔ دن کے وقت، خاص طور پر تعطیلات میں، یہ جگہ شام کے وقت لوگوں سے بھری ہوتی ہے۔ ۔
